Did you know that thousands of teeth are unnecessarily extracted every year? Often, this is due to a lack of modern alternatives or knowledge about regenerative dentistry. The result: dental prostheses that are expensive and can affect your quality of life. But there are ways to save your tooth. We’ll help you get the information you need to make the best decision—without regrets or unnecessarily high costs down the road.
The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The staff was very knowledgeable. The advice was excellent. As a patient, you feel very well taken care of. I can recommend this practice with a clear conscience.
Dr. Holscher is probably the sweetest in the town (smiley and funny), but his main advantages are care, competence, meticulosity, professionalism, and experience. I strongly recommend him.
As usual, a high level of professionalism and friendliness. I was in pain, and Dr. Holscher kindly made time to see me and treat the problem right away. Highly recommended!
Your own teeth are priceless—and we’ll preserve them for as long as possible.

Our mission: Your tooth, your health—for a lifetime.

Regenerative Dentistry

Our Mission

We provide regenerative dentistry to health-conscious patients, so you can keep your natural teeth well into old age.

The Problem

Grinding. Drilling. Extracting. For decades, the basic principles of traditional dentistry have hardly changed. This costs you teeth, time, and quality of life, even though there have long been better ways.

The Solution

Your natural teeth for a lifetime. Our treatment plans are focused on one thing: keeping your teeth healthy. With proper care, teeth have no expiration date.

Is that safe?

Yes—and for good reason. At Kiantu, we combine decades of experience with cutting-edge technology. Every step is explained clearly so you know exactly what’s happening and why.

Isn't that expensive?

You might think that saving your teeth is expensive. But what’s the alternative? An implant costs three to four times as much and can affect your quality of life. Regenerative dentistry is not only the gentlest option, but also the most sustainable one.

Does it hurt?

We hear this question often, and our patients are always surprised to learn that, thanks to minimally invasive procedures such as laser and regenerative technology, dental treatment can be a comfortable experience, even in complicated cases.

Sebastian Kneipp
Take responsibility for your (dental) health so that you can enjoy a pain-free, anxiety-free and carefree life.

Your teeth don’t have an expiry date and, with proper care, will last a lifetime!

The most beautiful thing you can wear every day is your healthy smile.

The old way. The better way.

Innovative

You’re open to new approaches in medicine and don’t want to simply carry on doing what’s always been done. You ask ‘why’ and expect answers based on science, not on habit.

Effective

You don’t want stopgap solutions. You’d rather invest properly once than three times half-heartedly and you know that your own teeth are the best and most cost-effective option in the long run.

Gentle

You may be afraid of the dentist or have had bad experiences. At Kiantu, we use only minimally invasive, virtually pain-free methods. No unnecessary drilling, no surprises.

For many people, losing a tooth is just another step on the path to dentures or implants. For me, it’s a tragedy that can be avoided. My name is Dr. Christian Holscher, and I founded Kiantu to prevent exactly that.

Even during my residency at the University of Göttingen, my mentor showed me that even “hopeless teeth” can often be saved—if you use the right techniques and have the necessary knowledge. This skill was recognized in 2013 and 2015 with awards from the DGR²Z and FVDZ. Armed with this conviction and the knowledge gained from university research and teaching, I have dedicated myself to a form of dentistry that preserves teeth rather than replacing them.

I am convinced that no artificial material can ever match the value of a natural tooth. That is why, at Kiantu, I rely on state-of-the-art technologies and biocompatible materials, which leading research groups consider the best foundation for lifelong tooth preservation. Kiantu is the first practice for regenerative dentistry in Luxembourg that combines the best of both worlds: the millennia-old wisdom of Far Eastern healing methods and cutting-edge scientific technologies. This combination enables us to sustainably preserve the vitality of your teeth, avoid toxic materials, and always take a holistic view of your health.

Our approach is gentle, sustainable, and above all, focused on protecting your natural teeth—for a healthy, happy life.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Toothache rarely comes on suddenly — it is the result of a long process. The most important form of prevention is regular early diagnosis: using modern laser fluorescence technology, we can detect tooth decay at an early stage, before it causes pain. This is complemented by daily oral hygiene, a tooth-friendly diet and professional teeth cleaning twice a year. At Kiantu, we provide you with personalised advice — based on your individual risk profile.

  • Yes. Kiantu treats patients from Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium and France — regardless of their insurance cover. Self-paying patients are very welcome. We’ll provide you with a transparent cost estimate in advance so that you know exactly what to expect. Just give us a call or drop us a line — we’ll work out a solution together.
  • By acting early. A root canal treatment becomes necessary when bacteria have reached the tooth’s nerve — this usually happens as a result of untreated tooth decay or cracks. With regular early diagnosis and minimally invasive treatments, we can, in most cases, protect the nerve before it is affected. The sooner you come in, the more of the tooth we can save.
  • A crown is recommended when a tooth has been weakened to such an extent — by tooth decay, cracks or root canal treatment — that it can no longer remain stable on its own. The crown protects it from further damage and restores its full function. At Kiantu, we use only metal-free, biocompatible materials that blend harmoniously with the natural appearance of the teeth.
  • First, we use digital 3D X-ray technology to analyse precisely what is happening inside your tooth. The actual treatment takes place under our surgical microscope — working at 30x magnification, we operate with the utmost precision. The tooth is numbed painlessly, the source of infection is completely removed, the root canals are cleaned and sealed with biocompatible material. Most patients are surprised at how comfortable the procedure is.
  • Conventional dentistry repairs. Regenerative dentistry heals. Instead of grinding down, extracting or replacing teeth, we focus on methods that preserve and strengthen the tooth’s natural structure. This means: biological materials, minimally invasive procedures, and treatments that support the body’s natural healing processes. Your own tooth is, and always will be, the best implant.
  • In certain cases — particularly in young patients whose roots have not yet fully developed — revitalisation is possible. This involves the use of biological growth factors that stimulate the tissue inside the tooth to regenerate. The tooth then regains functions that seemed to have been lost. We will discuss whether revitalisation is an option for you during an initial consultation.
  • A dark tooth is often a sign that the nerve has died and that decomposition products have built up inside the tooth. Following successful root canal treatment, the tooth can be lightened from the inside out — a procedure we call ‘internal bleaching’. The result is a naturally lighter tooth, without the use of harsh external bleaching agents.
  • Not necessarily — but it is possible. If the nerve dies, blood breakdown products can accumulate inside the tooth and cause it to darken. The extent of the discolouration depends on various factors. The key point is this: the sooner the dead tooth is treated, the easier it is to prevent or correct the discolouration.
  • A dead tooth in itself is not toxic — but an untreated dead tooth can become a breeding ground for bacteria. Chronic inflammation at the tip of the root can affect the surrounding tissue and, in the worst-case scenario, the entire body. That is why it is important not to ignore a dead tooth, but to have it treated professionally. At Kiantu, we use 3D diagnostics to analyse precisely whether treatment is required.
  • Kiantu comes from Swahili and roughly means ‘what belongs to us’ or ‘ours’. The name embodies a simple belief: your own teeth are irreplaceable — they are part of you, and it is worth doing everything we can to preserve them. This philosophy underpins every treatment we provide.
  • The answer is almost always: save your own tooth. An implant is a good solution — but only when the natural tooth really can no longer be saved. Your own tooth is connected to the jawbone, senses pressure and temperature, and naturally maintains the bone. An implant also costs three to four times as much as a root canal treatment. At Kiantu, we first explore all options for saving your tooth — honestly and with no hidden agenda.
